This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your SHARDOR Espresso Machine EM3209. Please read all instructions carefully before first use and retain this manual for future reference.
The SHARDOR Espresso Machine EM3209 is a semi-automatic espresso maker designed for home use, featuring a 20-bar high-pressure pump, milk frother steam wand, and temperature display. It is capable of preparing various coffee beverages including espresso, latte, and cappuccino.
Belangrijke veiligheidsinstructies

Instellen
- Uitpakken: Verwijder voorzichtig alle verpakkingsmaterialen en controleer of alle onderdelen aanwezig zijn.
- Schoonmaak: Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, and filter baskets with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp lap.

- Eerste spoelcyclus:
- Plug in the machine and press the power button. The indicator lights will flash as the machine heats up.
- Once the lights are solid, place a cup under the portafilter (without coffee).
- Press the 2-cup button to run a cycle of hot water through the system. Discard the water.
- Turn the steam knob to the steam position and let steam release for 10-15 seconds to prime the steam wand. Turn the knob back to the off position.
- Repeat this process once more to ensure the machine is thoroughly cleaned and primed.

Gebruiksaanwijzing
Espresso zetten:
- Verwarm de kopjes voor: Place your espresso cups on the cup warmer at the top of the machine.
- Portafilter voorbereiden:
- Selecteer het juiste filtermandje (voor een enkele of dubbele espresso) en plaats het in de portafilter.
- Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. For optimal results, use fresh, finely ground coffee.
- Gebruik de tamper (included) to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly. Ensure the surface is level.

- Portafilter bevestigen: Insert the portafilter into the group head and turn it firmly to the right until it is securely locked in place.

- Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button depending on your desired serving size. The machine will automatically brew the espresso and stop when the pre-programmed volume is reached.
- For manual control, press the manual brew button to start and press it again to stop when your desired volume is achieved.

Melk opschuimen:
- Melk bereiden: Vul een roestvrijstalen melkopschuimkan met koude melk (gewone of plantaardige) tot net onder de tuit.
- Stoom activeren: Press the steam button. The light will flash as the machine heats up to steam temperature. Once the light is solid, the machine is ready.
- Stoompijpje reinigen: Position an empty cup under the steam wand. Turn the steam knob to release any condensed water until only steam comes out. Turn the knob back to the off position.
- Melk opschuimen:
- Immerse the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher.
- Draai aan de stoomknop om de stoom te activeren.
- Hold the pitcher at a slight angle and move it up and down gently to create foam. Listen for a gentle "tearing paper" sound.
- Once the milk has doubled in volume and reached your desired temperature (around 140-150°F or 60-65°C), turn the steam knob to the off position and remove the pitcher.
- Stoompijpje schoonmaken: Veeg de stoompijp onmiddellijk af met adamp cloth to remove any milk residue. Run a quick burst of steam to clear any milk from inside the wand.
Onderhoud
Dagelijkse schoonmaak:

- Afdruiprek: Empty and clean the drip tray daily. It has a red indicator that floats up when full.

Ontkalken:
Descaling is essential to remove mineral buildup and maintain optimal machine performance. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (e.g., white vinegar diluted with water, or a commercial descaling agent according to product instructions).

- Run several cycles of water through the group head and steam wand until the tank is empty.
