1. Instellen

Follow these steps to set up your new Smeg Fully Automatic Coffee Machine.

1.1 Uitpakken en plaatsen

• Place the machine on a stable, flat, and dry surface, away from heat sources and water.

1. Locate the removable water tank at the back of the machine.
2. Lift the tank out and fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicator.
3. Carefully reinsert the water tank into its position.

1.3 Koffiebonen laden

1. Open the coffee bean hopper lid on top of the machine.
2. Giet verse koffiebonen in het reservoir. Niet te vol doen.
3. Sluit het deksel van de trechter goed af.

1.4 Eerste spoelcyclus

• Before first use, perform a rinse cycle to clean the internal circuits.

2.1 Configuratiescherm voorbijview

2.2 Koffie zetten

1. Place your cup under the coffee dispenser. The adjustable coffee outlet height accommodates various cup sizes.

3. Adjust strength and temperature settings if available and desired.

2.3 Het stoompijpje (melkschuimer) gebruiken

The integrated steam wand allows you to froth milk for lattes, cappuccinos, and other milk-based drinks.

1. Vul een kan met koude melk.
2. Submerge the steam wand tip just below the milk surface.
3. Activeer de stoomfunctie op het bedieningspaneel.

5. Turn off the steam function when finished and clean the wand immediately.

3. Onderhoud

3.1 Cleaning the Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container

1. The drip tray and coffee grounds container should be emptied and cleaned regularly.
2. Slide out the drip tray from the front of the machine.
3. Verwijder de koffieresidubak.
4. Was beide onderdelen met warm zeepsop en spoel ze grondig af. Droog ze volledig af voordat u ze terugplaatst.

3.2 Het reinigen van de zetgroep

3. Press the two release buttons on the brew unit and pull it out.
4. Rinse the brew unit under running water. Do not use detergent.

• Error Messages (Water Tank, Waste Bin, Coffee Beans): If the machine displays error messages indicating an empty water tank, full waste bin, or empty coffee beans when they are not, try removing and reinserting the respective components. Ensure they are correctly seated. Clean sensors if visible and accessible.
• Inconsistent Drink Quality: This can be due to incorrect grind settings, stale beans, or a dirty brew unit. Adjust grind fineness, use fresh beans, and ensure the brew unit is clean.
• Machine Not Working/Leaking: If the machine does not power on, produces no coffee, or shows signs of internal leaking, first check the power connection and water tank. For persistent or severe issues like internal leaks, contact customer support.
• No Milk Froth: Ensure the steam wand is clean and not clogged. Use fresh, cold milk.
