1. Inleiding
This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your ICOM IC-4300 47-channel low-power transceiver. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to prevent damage.
The ICOM IC-4300 is a compact and lightweight low-power transceiver designed for reliable short-range communication. It supports 47 channels and features a relay type function, making it suitable for various applications requiring clear and consistent voice transmission.
2. Veiligheidsinformatie
Observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury, electric shock, fire, or damage to the transceiver.
- Do not operate the transceiver in explosive atmospheres (e.g., near flammable gases, dust, or powders).
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the transceiver. Repairs should only be performed by qualified service personnel.
- Use only specified batteries and accessories. Incorrect battery types may cause explosion or leakage.
- Keep the transceiver away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and excessive moisture.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to the antenna when transmitting, as it may cause RF energy exposure beyond safe limits.
- Do not immerse the transceiver in water unless it is specifically rated for such use.

- Antenne: Zendt en ontvangt radiosignalen.
- Aan/uit-/volumeknop: Turns the transceiver on/off and adjusts the audio volume.
- PTT-knop (Push-To-Talk): Houd de knop ingedrukt om te verzenden; laat los om te ontvangen.
- Weergave: Shows channel number, battery status, and other operational indicators.

4. Instellen
4.1 Batterij installatie
- Zorg ervoor dat de zendontvanger is uitgeschakeld.
- Zoek het batterijklepje aan de achterkant van het apparaat.
- Schuif of ontgrendel het deksel om het compartiment te openen.
- Insert one AAA battery (sold separately) according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment.

4.2 Antennebevestiging
The IC-4300 features an integrated antenna. No external antenna attachment is required.
5. Gebruiksaanwijzing
5.1 Aan/uitzetten en volume aanpassen
- To turn on: Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise until a click is heard and the display illuminates.
- To turn off: Rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until a click is heard and the display turns off.
- To adjust volume: Rotate the Power/Volume knob while the unit is on. Clockwise increases volume, counter-clockwise decreases it.
5.2 Kanaalselectie
- Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select your desired communication channel (1-47).
- Ensure all transceivers in your group are set to the same channel for communication.
5.3 Zenden en ontvangen
- Verzenden: Press and hold the PTT button. Speak clearly into the microphone (located near the speaker grille). Release the PTT button when finished speaking.
- Ontvangen: Ensure the PTT button is not pressed. The transceiver will automatically receive signals on the selected channel.
5.4 Monitorfunctie
- Press the 'Monitor' button to temporarily open the squelch. This allows you to hear very weak signals or background noise on the current channel, which can be useful for checking channel activity.
- Release the 'Monitor' button to return to normal squelch operation.
5.5 Group Mode
- The 'Group' button is used to manage group communication settings. Refer to the full user manual for detailed instructions on setting up and using group codes (CTCSS/DCS tones) for private conversations within a larger group.
6. Onderhoud
6.1 Reinigen
- Wipe the transceiver with a soft, dry cloth.
