5. Instellen
5.1. Batterij installatie
The Testo 810 requires 2 AAA batteries (included).
- Zoek het klepje van het batterijcompartiment aan de achterkant van het instrument.
- Schuif of maak het deksel los om het compartiment te openen.
- Plaats de 2 AAA-batterijen en let daarbij op de juiste polariteit (+/-) zoals aangegeven in het batterijvak.

6. Bediening
6.1. Aan/uit
- Om in te schakelen: Druk op de ⏻ button. The display will illuminate and show current readings.
- Uitschakelen: Houd de knop ingedrukt ⏻ button until the display turns off. The instrument also features an auto-off function to conserve battery life.
6.2. Taking Measurements (IR and Ambient)
The Testo 810 simultaneously measures both surface and air temperatures.
- Zorg ervoor dat het instrument is ingeschakeld.
- Point the infrared sensor (at the top of the device) towards the surface you wish to measure. The 1-point laser will indicate the center of the measurement spot.
- The IR temperature will be displayed in the larger digits, while the ambient air temperature will be shown in smaller digits.
- For accurate IR readings, ensure the distance to the object is appropriate for the 6:1 optics ratio (e.g., at 6 inches distance, the measurement spot is 1 inch in diameter).
6.3. Adjusting Emissivity (ε)
Emissivity is crucial for accurate infrared temperature measurement. Different materials have different emissivity values. The Testo 810 allows adjustment from 0.10 to 1.00.
- With the instrument on, press the Modus button repeatedly until the emissivity symbol (ε) appears on the display.
- Gebruik de ▲ button to adjust the emissivity value. Refer to standard emissivity tables for common materials.
- Druk op de Modus button again to confirm the setting and return to measurement mode.
6.4. Hold and Min/Max Functions
- Hold-functie: During measurement, briefly press the Modus button. The current readings will be frozen on the display, indicated by a 'Hold' symbol. Press Modus again to resume live measurement.

7. Onderhoud
7.1. Schoonmaken
To ensure accurate readings and prolong the life of your instrument:
- Wipe the instrument casing met advertentieamp doek. Gebruik geen schurende reinigingsmiddelen of oplosmiddelen.
- Carefully clean the infrared lens with a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens cleaning wipe. Avoid touching the lens directly with fingers.
7.2. Batterij vervangen
When the battery indicator shows low power, replace the batteries as described in Section 5.1. Always use fresh AAA alkaline batteries.
7.3. Opslag
When not in use, store the Testo 810 in its protective cap in a dry, dust-free environment within the specified operating temperature range.
