1. Inleiding

This manual provides detailed instructions for the safe and effective use of your Mileseey X5, X6, or S6 Laser Distance Meter. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the device and keep it for future reference.

3. Instellen

3.1 Batterij installatie

For models requiring AAA batteries (X5, X6-no-charging, S6), open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert the required number of AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. For X6-Rechargeable, ensure the device is charged via the provided USB cable.

3.2 In-/uitschakelen

• Aanzetten: Houd de aan/uit-knop ( or similar icon) until the screen lights up.
• Uitschakelen: Long press the power button. The device will also automatically shut down after three minutes of inactivity to save power.

4.1 Basismeting

• Enkele meting: After booting, enter single measurement mode (usually default). Press the 'MEAS' key once to emit the laser, and press it again to take the measurement. The current measurement data will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
• Continue meting (tracking): Press and hold the 'MEAS' key for a long time to enter continuous measurement mode. The screen will show minimum and maximum measured values. Press the 'MEAS' key again to stop. The device automatically stops continuous measurement after 3 minutes.

4.2 Meetmodi

Short press the function key (usually the button with multiple squares or 'FUNC' icon) to switch between different measurement modes:

• Oppervlakte Meting: Select this mode. Measure the length and width separately. The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
• Volumemeting: Select this mode. Measure the length, width, and height. The device will automatically calculate and display the volume.
• Pythagorean Measurement (2-point): This mode assists in measuring vertical heights indirectly. Measure the hypotenuse and one leg, and the device calculates the other leg.
• Secondary Pythagorean Measurement (3-point): For more complex height measurements. Measure three points to calculate the vertical height.
• Automatic Level: Measures horizontal distance.
• Automatic Vertical: Measures vertical distance.

4.3 Eenheidsschakeling

Long press the 'UNIT' key to cycle through measurement units: meters (m), feet (ft), inches (in), and feet+inches (ft+in).

4.4 Meetreferentie

Short press the reference key (often labeled with an icon showing front/rear reference) to switch the measurement standard between the front edge and the rear edge of the device. This allows for accurate measurements from different starting points without manual calculation.

The device can store up to 20 (or 30 for some S6 models) groups of historical measurement data. Short press the storage key (often an icon resembling stacked papers) to scroll through the stored records. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to navigate backward and forward through the records.

4.6 Mute-modus

The sound (beeper prompt) can be turned on and off at any time by pressing the mute key (speaker icon). This is suitable for use in quiet places such as classrooms or libraries.

5. Onderhoud

• Schoonmaak: Gebruik een zachte, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use corrosive liquids or strong solvents.
• Laserlens: The laser lens is a sensitive component. Clean it carefully with a soft cloth, similar to cleaning camera lenses.
• Batterij vervangen: For models using AAA batteries, replace them when the low battery indicator appears on the screen. Ensure correct polarity.
• Opslag: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for a long period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
• Bescherming: The device features an IP54 waterproof and dustproof rating, and a 280° soft adhesive package for anti-fall wear resistance. While durable, avoid unnecessary drops or exposure to harsh conditions.

6. Probleemoplossing

• Error 500 / Error 220: This may indicate a battery issue. Try replacing the batteries with new, good quality ones.
• Error 261 (Measurement less than 1.2 meters): This error suggests the device cannot measure distances below 1.2 meters. Ensure you are measuring within the device's specified minimum range.

  • Ensure the measurement reference point (front/rear) is correctly set.
  • Check for obstructions in the laser path.
  • In bright sunlight, the laser beam might be less visible, affecting accuracy over long distances. Use a target plate if available.
  • If there's a significant discrepancy (e.g., 5-8mm error), the device might need calibration. Refer to the manual for calibration steps or contact support.
• Cannot switch units: Long press the 'UNIT' button to switch units. A short press might have a different function.
• Poor sound quality / Beeper issues: Check if mute mode is enabled.
