The Ohaus Scout Portable Balance SPX1202 is engineered for precise weighing in laboratory, industrial, and educational settings. This manual provides essential information for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your balance to ensure accurate and reliable performance.
The SPX1202 model features an LCD display and tactile buttons for user-friendly operation. Key features include a removable high-strength stainless steel weighing platform, integrated transportation/storage lock, slip-resistant and adjustable feet, a leveling bubble, and robust mechanical and software overload/underload protection. The sealed front panel and spill ring enhance durability by protecting internal components from spills. The balance also includes a stability indicator, auto tare function, low-battery indicator, and auto shut-off.
Multiple weighing modes are supported, such as parts counting, check weighing, percent weighing, density determination, totalization, and display hold. Optional connectivity kits for RS-232, USB host, USB device, Ethernet, and Bluetooth are available.

2. Instellen
2.1 Uitpakken
Carefully remove the balance from its packaging. Retain all packaging materials for future transport or storage. Verify that all components are present:
- Ohaus Scout Portable Balance unit
- Stainless steel weighing pan
- AC adapter (if included, or ensure 4 AA batteries are available)

2.2 Plaatsing
Place the balance on a stable, level surface free from vibrations, drafts, and direct sunlight. Avoid locations near heat sources or air conditioning vents.
2.3 Leveling the Balance
The balance must be level for accurate measurements. Use the leveling bubble located near the display to adjust the feet:
- Adjust the two rear feet by turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise until the air bubble is centered within the red circle of the leveling indicator.
- Ensure the balance is stable and does not rock.
2.4 Stroomaansluiting
The balance can be powered by an AC adapter or 4 AA batteries (not included).

3. Gebruiksaanwijzing
3.1 In-/uitschakelen
- Druk op om in te schakelen AAN/UIT knop.

- Ensure the weighing pan is empty and clean.
